Community Spotlight: Simone’s Market

September 27, 2017 By Amelie Desormeaux

simone's marketSimone’s Market, located at 8201 Oak Street, has the mission to “Do Good Work” by partnering with local vendors to provide fresh produce and grocery products as well as an entire menu of sandwiches, salads, and family-style meals. We are proud to inform you that Green Light New Orleans’ Edible Teaching Garden collaborates with Simone’s Market to sell our harvest to the greater community! Just recently, our garden coordinator, Amelie, spent the morning in our mint patch, gathering fresh, dew-dampened clippings that she then biked over to Simone’s Market to put right on the produce shelf. We just love this powerful example of sustainable and ecological businesses practices, and we hope you do to! So, be sure to go by the market 10am-8pm any day of the week where you may find some mint, papaya, and many other vegetables grown by Green Light New Orleans.

Take a look at their website to see their menu and catering options- they sound delicious!
