Green Light Garden Revival

April 27, 2019 By Jessica Caines

AF372A25-3535-4AC9-BB2A-CA5828782084This spring our garden coordinator Helena has been working very hard with the help of some ready and willing volunteers to take our teaching garden to a whole new level! Green Light’s teaching garden serves as a living classroom where future backyard vegetable garden recipients are taught gardening basics.

The garden has gotten all new permaculture styled garden beds which are now being planted with squash, peppers, herbs and more! We also got some gorgeous and colorful new signs painted for us by our spring break groups. We even have a new small patio area which is being used for seedling prep.

Come by and visit our garden at 2420 Cambronne street! The front portion is open 24/7 for community members to harvest from, so come pick something tasty. Support our teaching garden on GIVE NOLA day, May 7th.
