Nearly every day, there is an awesome volunteer at Green Light New Orleans helping install rain barrels, paint garden beds, schedule light bulb routes, etc. But twice a week, we are graced with two very exceptional volunteers named Jackie and Ben. They showed up one day eager to contribute to the community of New Orleans and for months now have tirelessly spent many hours painting beautiful rain barrels and tending to our Edible Teaching Garden. Their patient and humble work inspires our staff to work that much harder and smile through the good and the difficult of community work. We are grateful for all of the seedlings they have cared for in their own home, the sweaty afternoons weeding and planting garden beds, and the painted rain barrels that are now beautifying the yards of countless New Orleans residents.
