While we’re on the subject of amazing volunteers…

March 23, 2010 By Andreas Hoffmann

Green Light would like to send out a huge Thank You to a few volunteer groups that really went above and beyond last week.  First, there was Erica and her friends from South Texas, who brought all their own energy efficient light bulbs.  We also had two groups that each fundraised to help cover the cost of the light bulbs they installed.  Just a job well done by Mary Kathryn and her crew from Faith Hills Baptist Church in North Carolina, and Katye Dunn & friends from Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Arkansas.

This type of help is invaluable to us, since it can be very challenging for Green Light to buy all the light bulbs we need.  This is especially true in busy times like Spring Break season.  It’s because of the giving spirit of these three groups, and others like them, that we are able to continue bringing energy efficiency to the people of New Orleans.  And, of course, without the best gift of all-their time-we would never have been able to reach the 122 homes that we were able to help last week alone.  Needless to say, our volunteers are simply the best.

THANK YOU to all of our volunteers and supporters out there!!  We appreciate you.
