If I sign up for the Green Light program, will I get a plain or painted garden bed?
Garden program participants have the choice of a plain garden bed (the au natural style), or a a gardenl painted by an artist.

What happens if I move?
We ask you to notify us if you move. You can move the garden to your new location or we might pick it up and if still in good shape offer it to somebody else.

Will you help me weed the garden?
Not really. It will be your duty to keep up the garden. Weeding, mulching, watering is part of gardening.

Will you help me replant the garden for the next season?
No. It will be your duty to replant the garden and we ask you to keep it up for at least 5 years. But in our mandatory class you will learn how and what to replant.

Besides maintaining the garden after it is installed, do I have any other obligations to the program?
We ask that you start composting. This is crucial to maintain soil fertility. We’re going to call you to check-in. Pick up the phone! We don’t mean to be pesky, but we’re curious how often you’re using your garden and how well your vegetables grow. These calls help us improve our and measure our impact.

My veggies don't grow well and bugs are eating them. What do I do?
Send us pictures and call us. We are glad to help. And if we don't know, we contact the LSU AG center. They will know what to do.

Can I get a rain barrel with my garden?
Yes, that is the perfect combo!
