Garden Class in the Edible Teaching Garden

Last Saturday, a group of soon-to-be gardeners gathered in the Edible Teaching Garden to learn about starting their own backyard vegetable garden with Green Light.

After identifying the types of vegetables they would like to grow and eat, the gardeners designed their own garden plans and picked out the best location for their garden on a map of their yard. We also talked about building soil through composting, planting seedlings, gardening resources, and storm water management in our yards.

We had fun getting to know each other and learning from each other’s questions!
