Loyola Student Wins ADDY Award for Green Light Brochure
Alexandra Ernst is a junior in the School of Mass Communication at Loyola University New Orleans. Last fall, Alexandra was enrolled in an advanced graphic design course that was engaged in a service-learning project with Green Light New Orleans. As the final assignment for the course, the students created brochures with energy saving tips. The students used information that we provided about common appliances and were asked to include stylistic elements that were characteristically New Orleans. All of the brochures were incredibly creative and well done, but ultimately we selected two to publish and give to residents. Alexandra’s brochure was one that stood out to us right away because it is extraordinarily creative and engaging, and the tips are presented in a simple, straightforward way that is both visually appealing and immediately informative. Apparently the American Advertising Federation agreed, because they recently awarded her an ADDY for the Student ADDY Awards Competition, which honors and rewards creative excellence by students. Alexandra will receive her award at the annual ADDY Awards Ceremony Saturday, February 26 (tomorrow). Congratulations, Alexandra!
Stay tuned for the new brochure!
