Meet Green Light’s spring 2018 Interns

Green Light New Orleans depends on many people to further our mission of building a more sustainable future. In addition to volunteers from within and outside the New Orleans community, we would not be able to function without the help of our team of interns.

This year, we are excited to welcome Alexandra Betzios, Noah Klabin, Clare Lister and Ruby Toolin.

Alex BetziosAlexandra Betzios is a Tulane senior majoring in environmental science. She moved to New Orleans from New York to pursue her education. Alexandra is attending law school next year to focus on a future career in environmental law. She wants to help create laws and policies to preserve and conserve the environment, specifically the planet’s oceans.

 

Noah KlabinNoah Klabin is a Tulane senior majoring in Economics, with a minor in management. He is interested in documentary filmmaking and photojournalism, exploring the threats of climate change on communities around the world. Last spring, he won a jury award in a student film competition with his film One Chance about sea level rise threatening Southeast Louisiana.

 

Clare ListerClare Lister is a Tulane senior majoring in environmental biology with a math minor. Last spring she spent a semester studying wildlife conservation & political ecology in Tanzania, and over the summer she worked in Panama researching tropical plants and fungi. Clare is generally interested in plants, urban agriculture, and methods for increasing urban resilience to challenges presented by climate change.

 

Ruby ToolinRuby Toolin is a Tulane senior majoring in environmental studies with a minor in public health and studio art. She spent last semester studying geography and sustainability in New Zealand. Ruby is interested in urban sustainability, as well as environmental injustice, which, at Green Light, entails the accessibility of rain barrels, backyard gardens, and energy efficient light bulbs in New Orleans.
