September Planting

Backyard Gardener,

It’s time to really get our Fall beds going, so here is a word on transitioning out of our Summer beds! We visited with Jim Mizell at the Crescent City Farmer’s Market in Uptown Square, where he will be most Tuesdays from 9am-1pm with seedlings of many of the following plants and more, or you can pick up the seeds at 1803 Jeannette Street from the Greenlight New Orleans Free Seed Library and start your own seedlings! Without further ado, we give you the list of our suggestions for planting in September:

                                                                 Beets                    Parsley

                                                                 Carrots                Swiss Chard

                                                                 Collards              Mizuna
