The Green Light Full Time Team 2018/19

Meet the team that you’ll be seeing around Green Light starting September 2018!
Jessica Caines, Americorps Serve Louisiana Member, Volunteer and Technology Coordinator. Jessie graduated from Tulane University in May 2018 and studied environmental studies and public health. She fell in love with the culture, art, and of course, the food, in New Orleans and couldn’t bear to leave after graduation. Jessie served on Green Light’s board of directors her senior year of college and was thrilled at the opportunity to continue working with Green Light through Serve Louisiana, an Americorps program. Her current position at GLNO is managing technology, volunteers, and outreach.
Helena Beckstead, Americorps Serve Louisiana Member, Garden Coordinator. Helena was born and raised on the eastern shore of Maryland surrounded by agricultural fields and an estuarine landscape. She recently graduated from Tulane University in May 2018 with degrees in International Relations and Environmental Studies. She is excited to spend time in the outdoors serving as the Garden Coordinator for Green Light New Orleans in affiliation with Serve Louisiana. Previously, she has interned with the Tulane Institute on Water Resources Law and Policy in pursuit of her interest in water law and management. At Green Light she will be drawing on her experience volunteering in gardens in her hometown and around New Orleans.
Meredith Prentice, Americorps Serve Louisiana Member, Rain Barrel Coordinator. Meredith recently received her Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental & Sustainability Studies from Northern Arizona University. Her time spent in NOLA as a kid eating gas station po’ boys and grasshopper snoballs solidified her love for the city and its people, planting the seed that one day she would move to the big easy. Serving as Green Light’s Rain Barrel Project Coordinator as a Serve Louisiana Americorps Member, she is excited to learn about and get involved in storm water management strategies happening throughout the city.
Eva-Maria Jungmayer, World Horizon Member.Eva-Maria Jungmayer is a German volunteer serving through the organization World Horizon (https://www.world-horizon.org/en) for eleven months. She recently graduated from high school in Germany and she’s happy her first time in the US is to work with such a cool organization!
