2012 was the Hottest Year Ever

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released the numbers: 2012 was the hottest year in United States history. 2012 set multiple weather records in the United States.

With warmer climates, comes even more extreme weather. Last year, the U.S. recorded the warmest March, experienced a tornado outbreak in Tennessee and the Ohio Valley, and Hurricane Sandy slammed the East Coast.

In New Orleans, the average temperature from January 1 to May 31 was 69 degrees which is 5.2 degrees higher than average. These are the warmest temperatures New Orleans has had in 66 years.

These events serve as a reminder of why Green Light strives to reach people with every environmentally sustainable resource. Green Light works every day in the New Orleans area to reduce the carbon foot print and prevent further climate change that brings about these conditions.
