Volunteer as a Team
The Green Light New Orleans Rain and Shine rain barrel program has educational, environmental, and social impacts. Our volunteers make it all possible.
We are able to host groups of up to 30 volunteers on-site. For larger groups, we can often bring barrels off-site for artistic painting.
The Green Light volunteer experience is perfect for teams; preparing our rain barrels engages a wide range of skills and talents. Volunteers help prepare barrels by cleaning, sanding, priming, base-coating, and adding art.
We recommend shifts of 3 hour duration, allowing plenty of time to move barrels through all phases of preparation.
We welcome volunteers on-site on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, in shifts from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. For larger groups, we recommend morning shifts. Saturdays fill up quickly, so inquire about availability ASAP!
Please start by completing the registration form. Once we have your request details, we will prepare a proposal for your group’s volunteer experience. We offer custom service learning and corporate packages.
