Two More Interns!
It’s Lisa again, and I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! Though the weekend maybe over, we’ve been continuing the celebrations here in the office, since this week was also Alex’s birthday! The introductions to our interns continue with two more this week, featuring Piyali and Dina, both all the way from New York. We’ll be featuring our final intern next week, as well as sharing with you a number of exciting new stories!
Get to know Piyali:
Hi there! My name is Piyali, and I am an intern from NYC for the summer. I am a second year graduate student at Milano The New School, studying policy analysis and Urban Management. I discovered the amazing works of Green Light New Orleans in a case study during a project on energy efficiency best practices, and decided to apply for a summer internship with them to be a part of their amazing vision.
I will be graduating with a Masters in Public Policy in the Spring of 2012, after which I hope to be a part of the sustainable rebuild and energy efficiency field in New Orleans or in NYC. I love NOLA, it’s people, culture and the experiences I’ve had here so far.
Other than work and school, I am an artist and paint murals in different places in the world, working with people in need as a way of awareness of a need for social justice. I love traveling back home to India, music, festivals, the outdoors, my pet snake, and serving my community.
Get to know Dina:
Hello there everyone! I’m Dina Moussa, one of the Green Light New Orleans summer ’11 interns. I’m a New York City graduate student from The New School University, studying Urban Policy Analysis and Planning. My focus is in community development to contribute strategical planning to strengthen communities all over America. Working in New Orleans has been a fascinating experience and I’m glad I can work in this great city!
