Jalapeño

Jalapeno Pepper_small
A medium sized plant which will grow to around three feet tall and bears cylindrical green peppers between 2 and 3 inches in length. They in the chili pepper group and are considered mild to medium heat.


How to harvest: Pick the first peppers promptly when they reach full size and a rich green color to encourage further fruiting. Wash and store at 45°F (7 °C) and 95% relative humidity.

How to prepare: Simply slice and add fresh to any dish or sauté in a pan with mixed vegetables and spices. They’re delicious when fried and stuffed and can also be canned and stored for later use in salsas or hot sauces. Just be careful touching your eyes after working with the hot peppers, and consider wearing gloves while preparing them.
