Interns: Last but Definitely Not Least

Sorry, I’m a little late on this weeks post, but here’s our final intern feature! Hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know each of us! Stay tuned for more exciting blog posts on various local issues in the upcoming weeks.

Hey everyone! My name is Elissa and I’m another summer intern here at Green Light New Orleans. I’m a senior at Loyola University graduating in May 2012 with a B.A. in English Literature. I am very passionate about the environment and so excited to be able to dedicate time this summer learning more about energy sustainability in New Orleans! I first learned about this organization through the service-learning program at Loyola and admired the work they were doing.  I plan on attending law school in the fall of next year, and want to specialize in environmental law. When considering potential internships for the summer, I thought of Green Light New Orleans as a great place to learn more about non-profits and how they operate.

So far, this summer has been full of exciting events in New Orleans! When I’m not working I love pool-hopping, eating Thai food, and exploring Magazine Street. New Orleans is my all-time favorite city and I am so happy to be spending the summer here and excited about the work we are doing here at Green Light New Orleans!
