Nasdaq volunteers with Green Light New Orleans

IMG_8522A big THANK YOU to the 30 volunteers who visited us from Nasdaq on January 7. They kicked off their work week volunteering here at Green Light New Orleans.  Together they were able to prep 20 rain barrels, which involves a lot of elbow grease: scrubbing and cleaning the inside of the barrels, sanding the entire outside of the barrel and priming the barrels. This is a crucial step before barrel artists can paint them for our recipients’ homes. In addition to the barrel prep, artistic volunteers painted 11 rain barrels that are now ready for installation around New Orleans. Nasdaq also supported Green Light with a significant financial contribution!

Thank you again for your time and donation. Your barrels will get installed in the next few weeks and keep 1500 gallons of water out of our drainage system every time it rains! We had a lot of fun with y’all, and we hope you visit us again soon!!
