Tennis Star Marina Navratilova Installs CFLs at AARP Event

On September 20, Green Light New Orleans was thrilled to welcome tennis star Marina Navratilova as a volunteer from AARP’s national conference. Navratilova has won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, 10 major mixed doubles titles, and holds the all-time record for winning 31 major women’s doubles titles. She has also won 20 Wimbledon titles, making her tied for the all-time record in that as well.

Over 100 other AARP members volunteered at this Green Light event as part of their annual Life@50+ conference. These volunteers cleaned storm drains, installed backyard and community gardens, and installed CFLs in over 60 homes. Many thanks to Marina Navratilova and all of the AARP volunteers for making this event successful and supporting the New Orleans community!
