This Week’s Planting – 9/11/17

Backyard Gardener,

We visited with Jim Mizell at the Crescent City Farmer’s Market in Uptown Square and he gave some suggestions on what would be good to plant this week. He will be at the market Tuesday, Sept. 12th from 9am-1pm with seedlings of the following plants, or you can pick up the seeds at 1803 Jeannette Street from the Greenlight New Orleans Free Seed Library and start your own seedlings!

Cabbage

Cauliflower

Broccoli

Brussel Sprouts

Cucumber- Not just a summer treat, you can actually plant and harvest these all the way through November!

Tomatoes- This will be your last chance, plant them by the middle of this month in order to get a harvest before it is too cold.
