Window Weatherization – See The Results

I recently hired carpenter/consultant Bill Robinson to restore and weatherize an old window that leaked air. The results are amazing. Special weatherstripping prevents outside air from entering the room on all four sides and allows for smooth operation of the window. The upper window has also been restored to its former working condition so that it can be opened to create a draft in the higher part of the room that allows hot summer air that has risen and been trapped up by the ceiling to escape.

Check out Bill Robinson’s website to learn more about how to restore old windows. He is currently touring Home Depot stores all over the country to offer free workshops. (He will be in New Orleans conducting a workshop on Thursday, October 18th.)

There is no need to replace old windows. Restoring and weatherizing saves you money, prevents adding to the landfill, lowers vinyl production, and enhances your quality of life.
